New Year, Last Semester

Happy 2O18!

2O18 has been off to a great start. I am attempting to go to the gym and eat better (let’s see how long that lasts, college…am I right?), have a more positive attitude, not let little things stress me out, live in the moment, and be more present around people I enjoy being with. While those sound like your “basic” goals, I think that those can make a major impact on anyone depending on how seriously you treat them.  I am trying to do as much as I can in the last semester of college so I can look back on my time here and have some great memories.

Thinking about it, 2O18 is going to be a big year. It can be stressful at times thinking about finding a job and possibly my own place to live after a while, but I am ready to enter a new stage of my life after I graduate. I do not know where I will end up or what I will be doing, but instead of that scaring me because it does at times, I’m finding it better to embrace it because it is all apart of the experience. It will be time to focus on myself and be a little selfish (emphasis on the “little”).

I took my first road trip of 2O18 last weekend. I went with my best friend to a pre-inaugrual celebration. While I may not see her everyday like I used to, even though I may text all time hehe, it was nice to hang out for a weekend, laugh, listen to the usual car ride bops, and beat her in punch bug again #Oops               We went around town during the day and not only did I get to dress up for the event, but I also met a lot of great people including Tim Kaine! Everyone I spoke with said they enjoy seeing younger people attending and how important it is we get involved. I couldn’t agree more. Through the bit of networking I did, I hope to keep in touch in the future with those I met.

In a couple days, I will be beginning an internship with the Friends of the Rappahannock as their videographer and webmaster. At the last minute I decided to accept this internship. After much consideration and numerous long text conversations (maybe a meltdown…don’t tell anyone), I came to the conclusion it would be much more beneficial to accept it and turn down my other offer. While I was in my interview, I was full of excitement. I felt like I was in the right place in the right time. I will be posting updates about what I am up to in the Internship tab on the menu!

Whew. Okay I’m winded. Have I caught you up on my 2O18 adventures thus far? Maybe. If I forgot anything I’ll just put it in next weeks blog. Yes, I plan to blog every Sunday maybe more if I have a lot to say…which is all the time 🙂

I hope you have a great week! See you back here Sunday!
